Art Deco is a word that is tossed around quite frequently, but few artists really encapsulate what art deco is quite as much as Louis Icart. Icart moved to Paris in 1907, where he took his artistic concentrations away from the theater, into drawing and painting. By the late 1920's Louis Icart was at the peak of his career, and was a symbol for the art deco movement in Paris while it was in vogue.
Icart has a very sensual and playful view of women and sexuality, and this comes through in his work. If you've been considering putting some art deco in your house, Louis Icart is the one you want - Icart is art deco.

Born in 1965 in Moscow, Vladimir Kush is one of, if not the, premier surrealist painters of our time. His work in incredibly metaphoric and thick with color, meaning and style.
Vladimir started art school at the age of 7 in Russia, and went on to the Moscow Art Institute at the age of 17. His classical training and understanding of art history is evident in his work, yet there is a modernity and individuality to his work that is evidenced by his meteoric rise. We at Absolutely Fabulous feel that Vladimir Kush is the heir apparent to Salvador Dali; as extreme as this may sound, it is not, and the steep valuation of his work supports this view. If you purchase one of Vladimir's pieces, not only will you own a piece of art history, you will be making an incredible investment.

After a very successful early start in the artworld (he's one of the youngest artists in the world to have paintings displayed in the Boston Museum of Fine Art), David Krakov set off in his car to Hollywood. It didn't take Hollywood long to realize David's talents, and he was soon working in the animation studios. That is, until he made a little chess set sculpture for somebody. When word got out about David's sculpture abilities and the style and character of his work, Warner Bros requested, right away, that he make a chess set for them. Demand for his talents has only grown, and now David Krakov is the exclusive licensed sculptor for all Warner Bros, Looney Tunes, Hannah-Barbera, and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride characters, as well as creating limited edition sculptures for the Walt Disney Studios.

To say that Walt Disney is omnipresent is an understatement. His vision is now such a part of the American fabric that Mickey, Donald, and the whole crew are still on a first-name basis with America's children after all of these years. Bettie Page grew up in a poor household, and like many midwestern girls, made her way to New York to find stardom. She did not get to the big screen, but she did find herself modeling for some photography. Little did she know, at the time, what an effect she would have upon the mindset of American sexuality. Although she did not create any of the pinup and "alternate" scenes she was a part of, there was something about the dichotomy between her "girl next door," all-American look, and the lifestyle represented by the pictures she took. People that were threatened by the lifestyle she represented won a small victory when bunches of her works were banned, and the negatives destroyed. This, in combination with a divorce, sent Bettie into seclusion for years, only to find out that her fame blossomed in the 80's, lead by a slew of individual artists interpreting Bettie's work including, but not limited to, Olivia, Jim Silk _________________.
