Absolutely Fabulous tries to stay very active in our community by raising money for charities, having art nights, and doing anything we can think of to enjoy the company of our customers! Below you will see various bits of news... things past, things to come, cool stuff our friends have done... whatever. So - enjoy!
In October of 2009, Absolutely Fabulous hosted a very special Evening With Randy Cooper (click for pics) where we partnered with one of the best charities we've ever seen - the Breast Cancer Angels. On this night, Randy created a one-of-a-kind piece of shadow art that was auctioned off, with all of the proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Angels (20% of our proceeds also went to them). We had such a wonderful night, and met many new Absolutely Fabulous friends, and look forward to many more!
On March 13th, 2010, Absolutely Fabulous had their second fine art night called Rage for the Page. This evening was set up to raise money for Children of the Night - a privately funded non-profit organization that rescues children from child prostitution (do you know that if 100,000 people donated only $20 a year, then Children of the Night would have the resources needed to rescue most children that are in this predicament?).
This evening was hosted by two local (and very colorful) activists, the venerable Lady V. and J. Straynger. A fun time was had by all! We had some very rare Bettie Page artwork for sale, a bit of bubbly, and delicious food (kindly) provided by MetroQ Bar and Grill. We met a whole bunch of new friends, had a great time, gandered some beautiful Bettie Page artwork, and raised some money for a great cause

We can't really be fully ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS if we didn't have an awesome art deco night, right?
Well - Saturday, July 10th, 2010 was our Icart night. We had over 30 pieces to exhibit, including book pages, etchings, menu cards, original sketches and charcoals, and porcelein and brass reproductions.
Met met some new friends and generally had a great time!

Anyone who's thinking of doing any fundraising... we highly recommend working with Lady V. She is one of the few who really put her money where their mouth is, and comes through for us every time.
